I don’t know about you but, to me, not having any peace is one of the most awful things in the world. Most of us know what it’s like to not have any peace when things are going bad, but it’s even worse when everything is going good and peace is still nowhere to be found. Glory to our God that He is a God of peace. He wants to give us peace and He Himself can be our peace. This can be both when things are going good and when things are going bad. Let’s see what the scriptures say.
Isaiah 26:3 - You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 4:8 - I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Philippians 4:6,7 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
As we can see God truly is a God of peace, and what’s more is that He wants us to have it. Let’s make sure we keep our eyes on Him, trust in Him continually, and let His peace guard our hearts and minds.
